Digital Story
A Digital Story that I completed and can be used in a high school classroom as an assignment. Basically, this is a slideshow that I created on my computer and added music and effects to make it look more like a movie than a slide show. As long as students have access to computers, either at home or at school, this is a possible assignment that you can use in the classroom as a way of incorporating technology into the classroom. Also, it was really fun to make, therefore, it will probably be fun for students as well.
Creating Websites for Literature
I helped create this website for the Young Adult novel, The House of Tomorrow. I used the website to organize the lesson plans and the unit that I helped create cooperatively with my colleagues. Also, I think it would be fun to use with students in the classroom in one of two ways. You could create a website for each novel or unit that you teach or you could have students create one for each novel or unit. If you created one for each unit or novel, it could be used as a tool for students and yourself. It can help keep you and your students organized. If you had students create a website for a unit or novel, you can have them set it up like a summary of what they have learned about the novel or unit and use it as an option instead of a paper or final project.
